Hello! My name is Maya (she/her)!  Im a Kent native that just graduated from Kent State with a BFA in Sculpture and Explanded Media. My senior thesis work revoled around themes of miscommunication, devolution, and the importance human connection.

Outside of school, my work is a bit less serious and often makes sarcastic remarks on death and existing. I bounce around with every medium from film photography to murals to sculpting to drawing.

I worked at the KSU Fashion Museum as an exhibition assistant for a couple of laborious and heavily rewarding years. I thank that job endlessly for teaching me the value of craftsmanship and often apply that endurance to my own work.

There are few things in this world that I would label as lacking in artistic value. Art school is a crazy microcosm that trains your brain to question the meaning behind everything. I hope my work makes someone reanalyze their relationship with the everyday.
