"The clay arms were made a little while ago with plans to be used in a different sculpture that didn't end up working out. I found the lovely little stick on the sidewalk while I was walking home and liked the way the shapes of the branches mimicked arms. This stick had absorbed so much water over its lifetime that the surface of it was super smooth and soft but its structure was not delicate."
